What's Happening at OAS?
There's always something going on at OAS! Whether we're hosting Liz Wilson to talk about birdie behavior, Dr. Paul Welch or Dr. Carol Best to tell us the latest in avian medicine, or having a special "Toy Time" meeting where we get together and rejuvenate old bird toys, OAS has lots of exciting things planned. Meeting Time and Location for 2007 OAS Club Meetings
The OAS holds its regular monthly meetings from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm at the Hardesty South Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., Tulsa. A map with directions is available on the OAS "Our Meetings!" page.
It's the time to resurrect those old toys which have been accumulating in boxes, bags or in a corner somewhere, or to refurbish those Holiday toys that are now a pile of toothpicks on the floor.
Bring your old, CLEANED chains, hardware, acrylic pieces and plastic beads.
Do not bring wood, leather or other items that are not easily cleaned.
For a nominal price, a variety of sizes and shapes of wood parts, leather, sisal and other chewables items will be available to make your bird's favorite toy new again.
Many creative toys have been made at past "Toy Times" and members are always willing to share their toy making ideas.
So come join the fun! Your feathered friends will love you for it!

Dr. Walter Frey retired from higher education to use his degrees in biology and wildlife management to begin breeding and raising birds--starting with canaries and finches, to exotic McCaws. He brings the insight learned through education to help us know more about our birds and his passion for cockatoos.

The annual OAS member picnic. We're trying to get enough people together to have a special group tour of the Tulsa Zoo, led by an insider who can give us the scoop on what's happening in the various bird exhibits. We hope to be able to have the picnic at one of the shelters, weather permitting.
